Social Events

The I-CiTies 2026 social programme will offer participants the opportunity to discover some of the most representative cultural, historical and gastronomic places in Brescia and its surrounding area. The programme includes the Welcome Reception at the Santa Giulia Museum, a guided walking tour through the historic city center, and the Social Dinner in the Franciacorta wine region.

Welcome Reception

The conference Welcome Reception will take place at the  Santa Giulia Museum, one of the most remarkable cultural landmarks in Brescia and part of the UNESCO World Heritage site “Longobards in Italy: Places of Power”.

The Welcome Reception will provide an informal and welcoming setting for participants to meet colleagues, reconnect with collaborators, and begin scientific discussions in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by the unique cultural heritage of Santa Giulia.

Guided Walking Tour through the Historic City Center

Before the welcome reception, participants will be invited to join a guided walking tour through the historic city center of Brescia.

The itinerary will include some of the city’s most significant historical and architectural sites, such as Piazza della Loggia, Piazza Paolo VI with the Old and New Cathedrals, and the Roman archaeological area with the Capitolium and the remains of the ancient forum, testifying to Brescia’s more than two thousand years of history.

Barone Pizzini Winery
Social Dinner

The conference Social Dinner will take place in the Franciacorta wine region, approximately 30 minutes from the center of Brescia, and will offer participants the opportunity to experience one of the most renowned cultural and gastronomic areas of Northern Italy.

The program will include a guided visit to the Barone Pizzini Winery, one of the historic wineries of the Franciacorta area and internationally recognized for its wine production and commitment to sustainable viticulture.

Following the winery visit, dinner will be hosted at Borgo Santa Giulia in Corte Franca, in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere designed to encourage informal discussions, networking opportunities, and social interaction among conference participants.

Transportation to and from the venue will be provided by the conference organization.
